I took inspiration from the Titian painting, “Bacchus and Ariadne” for this one. I removed all the mythological figures and was more inspired by his use of color and composition for the landscape. I obviously made my version much more loose with my brushstrokes, which I think makes for quite the dramatic effect.
This painting was “inspired” by a nightmare I had about a coming Trump/Putin nuclear apocalypse.
This painting was inspired by the paintings Picasso did during his “Blue Period”… Of course, he didn’t paint so abstract then, so I guess this is more of a synthesis of that period and his later, more abstract works, with a big chunk of my own style thrown in there.
Van Gogh is my favorite artist, so I wanted to create an “abstract” painting inspired by his famous “Starry Night”… this was all from memory and I just let the shapes and colors come to me as I went.
This abstract painting was inspired by the water lilies Monet painted toward the end of his career, when he was almost blind… the best paintings he ever did, in my opinion. I think because he painted them so loose and with so much texture.
